Colombian artist JAIME OCAMPO-RANGEL has lived in France for twenty years.
After a childhood in Colombia, an adolescence in Miami and his high school at La salle in Spain, he graduated in Production and Visual Communication in New York.
After working for three years in the United States, he moved to Paris to create a photographic studio for fashions and publicities.
In 1999 he met the Kogui People in Colombia and started the firts portraits. The discovery of this ethnic group was a revelation for him, spiritually, aesthetically and intimately. It was also the first step of his most intimate and comitted project : « Memory of Colors ».
Since 1999 Jaime Ocampo-Rangel has already photographed a dozen of authentic peoples, each related with a color : Kogui with white ; Maroni with red ; Himba with ochre, Touareg with blue, Sacoya with Yellow, Mia with black…
